Candle Safety, Use, and Liability Statement

Important Safety Notice:
Alden Candles products contain an open flame when lit and must be used with extreme care. By purchasing, lighting, burning, handling, gifting, reselling, or otherwise using an Alden Candles product, the customer acknowledges that candles involve inherent risks, including but not limited to fire, burns, smoke, soot, melted wax, glass or container breakage, property damage, personal injury, allergic reaction, irritation, or death if used improperly.

Required Candle Safety Instructions

For your safety, you agree to follow all candle safety instructions, including the following:

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.

• Keep burning candles away from anything that can catch fire.

• Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

• Burn candles only on a stable, level, heat-resistant, nonflammable surface.

• Do not burn candles near curtains, bedding, paper, books, clothing, furniture, decorations, plants, cabinets, shelves, walls, or other combustible materials.

• Do not burn candles near drafts, fans, air vents, open windows, or high-traffic areas.

• Do not touch, move, carry, or handle a candle while it is burning or while the wax is hot.

• Do not use water to extinguish a candle.

• Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes too high, flickers excessively, smokes heavily, or the container becomes unusually hot.

• Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting, moving, trimming the wick, or discarding.

• Use only as intended. Do not ingest wax, fragrance, wick, decorations, botanicals, packaging, labels, or any candle component.

• Do not use candles during sleep, while impaired, while away from the room, or in any situation where the flame cannot be actively monitored.

Assumption of Risk

By purchasing or using Alden Candles products, you understand and voluntarily assume all ordinary and foreseeable risks associated with candle use, including risks caused by open flame, hot wax, heat, smoke, soot, fragrance materials, container temperature, improper placement, prolonged burning, failure to trim the wick, failure to monitor the candle, use near flammable materials, use around children or pets, or use contrary to the instructions provided.

Customer Responsibility

The customer is solely responsible for the safe use, storage, placement, handling, monitoring, and disposal of all Alden Candles products after purchase. Alden Candles is not responsible for damage, injury, loss, or claims arising from misuse, failure to follow warnings, failure to supervise a burning candle, use of the candle in an unsafe location, alteration of the candle, burning the candle beyond recommended limits, use with incompatible accessories, or use in violation of any provided instructions.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alden Candles, its owner, employees, agents, representatives, affiliates, suppliers, and distributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to the purchase, use, misuse, storage, gifting, resale, or handling of any Alden Candles product.

This includes, but is not limited to, damage to furniture, countertops, walls, flooring, fabrics, personal property, rental property, business property, vehicles, structures, pets, or any other property, as well as injuries resulting from burns, fire, smoke, soot, wax spills, broken containers, allergic reactions, respiratory irritation, or failure to follow candle safety instructions.

In no event shall Alden Candles’ total liability exceed the purchase price paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim, except where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

No Guarantee of Individual Results or Reactions

Alden Candles makes no guarantee that any candle will perform identically in every environment. Candle performance may vary based on room size, airflow, surface type, burn time, wick trimming, storage conditions, temperature, humidity, and user handling. Customers with allergies, asthma, fragrance sensitivities, respiratory conditions, pregnancy-related sensitivities, or other medical concerns should consult a qualified professional before using scented candles.

Natural Variation

Because Alden Candles products may be handmade and/or made with natural materials such as beeswax, variations in color, texture, scent strength, frosting, cracking, surface appearance, burn pattern, and finish may occur. These variations do not necessarily indicate a defect.

No Medical Claims

Alden Candles products are not medical devices, drugs, treatments, or health products. Any statements regarding beeswax, scent, ambiance, air quality, relaxation, mood, or traditional use are for general informational or marketing purposes only and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate any disease, condition, or health issue.

Third-Party Use, Gifts, and Resale

If you give, donate, transfer, or resell an Alden Candles product to another person, you are responsible for providing that person with all safety warnings, instructions, and product information. Alden Candles is not responsible for injury, damage, or loss resulting from failure to pass along candle safety information.

Product Inspection Before Use

Before each use, inspect the candle for damage, cracks, loose wick, foreign objects, unstable placement, excessive dust, debris, or any unsafe condition. Do not burn a candle that appears damaged, contaminated, unstable, or unsafe. Contact Alden Candles before use if you believe the product may be defective.

Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the customer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Alden Candles, its owner, employees, agents, representatives, affiliates, suppliers, and distributors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising from the customer’s misuse of the product, failure to follow safety warnings, negligent handling, unsafe storage, alteration of the product, resale, gifting, or use of the product in a manner inconsistent with the instructions provided.

Legal Rights

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in this statement is intended to waive, limit, or exclude any rights that cannot legally be waived, limited, or excluded under applicable law.

Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing, using, gifting, reselling, or otherwise handling an Alden Candles product, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Candle Safety, Use, and Liability Statement.
